History
Denman was named for Francis Marion Denman (1839–1917), a Civil War veteran who had owned the site. A 1916 photograph shows a hotel, store, grain elevator, depot, lumber yard, stockyards and blacksmith shop, and F. C. Wiese ran a grocery here from 1921 to 1961. The post office operated from 1914 to 1956.
