Lake McConaughy State Recreation Area surrounds Nebraska's largest reservoir, about nine miles north of Ogallala in Keith County, Nebraska. Formed by Kingsley Dam on the North Platte River, the 35,700-acre lake has roughly 76 miles of shoreline and is used for boating, sailing, fishing, and beach camping.
