Norris, Nebraska

Norris was a post office in Hayes County, named in honour of the Nebraska senator George W. Norris.

History

The office was established on 5 December 1904, moved to Frontier County in June 1907, moved back to Hayes County in November 1927 and was discontinued in 1928. A 1925 account says both the office and the Norris mail route were established through the senator’s influence.

No source records where in the county it stood. Note that the Norris in Cedar County is a different and better documented place, as is the Norris in southeastern Nebraska; neither has anything to do with this one.
