Morse Bluff was platted in 1887 when the Chicago & North Western Railroad extended to the location, and named for Chester Morse, the original owner of the town site.

One of Saunders County's smallest villages with a 2020 population of just 117, Morse Bluff has seen a gradual decline since 2000 but remains a currently incorporated village.
