A wonderful family owned restaurant with great food! It’s a welcoming place with a friendly atmosphere. In the late 80’s, we had one of our first dates there and decided to road-trip back 32 years later. We’re definitely not going to let that much time pass before going back again! Thanks, Finnegans!

Plainsman Steakhouse & Lounge offers a classic small-town steakhouse experience. The menu features a variety of options, including the chicken fried chicken, which is served with mashed potatoes and breading, and the Philly sandwich. The prime rib is cooked to perfection and has a flavorful black pepper crust. The salad and soup bar is a highlight, and the sides buffet offers many options. Service is generally good, but may be slow during peak hours. Overall, the restaurant provides a welcoming atmosphere and is worth a visit, but be prepared for potential delays.

Back in 1995, Ron & Vickie Olson took a chance on a small bar and restaurant in South Bend, Nebraska. What started as a local watering hole turned into something a whole lot bigger. The word spread, the parking lot filled up, and by 2003 the crowd had outgrown the building — so they moved up the hill and built what you now know as Round the Bend Steakhouse.
With the new building came bigger views, bigger steaks, and The Ball Room — a space built for weddings, celebrations, and the kind of nights folks talk about for years.
Youngest son TJ Olson didn't just grow up around RTB… he was raised in it. From washing dishes to learning every inch of the business, he saw firsthand what it takes to build something that lasts. In May of 2012, TJ and his wife Tifini took the plunge and became the next chapter of RTB — keeping it family owned, faith driven, and fiercely committed to quality.
The recipes stayed strong. The beef stayed Certified Angus Brand. The welcome stayed warm. And the Sunsets...still undefeated.
Whether you've been with us since the South Bend days or it's been a minute since you made the drive — come on out. We'd love to serve you!
