Wilber City Hall is the municipal office for Wilber, Nebraska, at 110 West Third Street. Wilber is the county seat of Saline County, population 1,937, and officially the Czech Capital of the USA, designated by President Ronald Reagan on July 10 1987. Platted 1873 and named for C. D. Wilber; became county seat in 1878, taking the seat from Pleasant Hill. Hosts the annual Czech Days festival each August, the city's signature event. The city bills residents for electric, water, sewer and garbage service, with residential garbage pickup on Mondays including recycling. Services include the Dvoracek Memorial Library, a compost site, and volunteer fire and rescue. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
