Weitz Company

The Weitz Company traces its origins to a carpentry shop opened at Fort Des Moines in 1855. It has worked in Nebraska since the 1980s and opened a permanent state office in 1990; that office, with about eighty staff, is at 8715 South 121st Street in La Vista. The team builds retail and mixed-use developments, commercial offices, sports facilities, senior living communities, and K-12 and higher education buildings. Regular clients include Omaha Public Schools, the University of Nebraska, College of Saint Mary, Gallup and Vetter Health Services. Weitz received a company-wide award for excellence for its work on Omaha's Midtown Crossing.
