Tyson Fresh Meats – Lexington

This business has permanently closed. The Tyson Fresh Meats beef plant in Lexington, Nebraska shut its doors on 20 January 2026 after decades of operation, ending more than 3,200 jobs in a town of about 10,000. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln put the statewide economic loss at $3.28 billion. The Nebraska Department of Labor set up help for affected workers in Lexington and Grand Island.
