The Taylor Family Plot sits on the crest of the hill above Taylor Cemetery near Homer, along the bluff road, with ten to fifteen graves in it.
It was meant to be the Taylor Cemetery. The site was given up because the climb was judged too steep for mourners to manage, and the main ground was laid out lower down near the road instead. The way up is still steep from every direction — this is a hard walk, not a drive-up cemetery, and it is worth arranging locally before going.
Around eight memorials have been recorded, which is a record of what has been photographed and indexed rather than a count of everyone buried there.
For burial records or plot enquiries, contact the Dakota County Clerk in Dakota City. Ownership can also be confirmed through the Nebraska Statewide Cemetery Registry at the State Historical Society.
