Spaghetti Works

Spaghetti Works opened in 1974 in Omaha's Old Market, started by Rusty Harmsen and Artie Abariotes four years after they launched Mister Toad. It occupies the eastern half of the Ames Block at 11th and Howard Streets, an 1890 building first built for a dry-goods wholesaler. The restaurant made its name with low-cost, all-you-can-eat spaghetti with a choice of sauces, and its decor once included a Model T converted into a salad bar. The original Old Market location later spawned restaurants in several other cities.
