Pioneer Cemetery — Box Butte County

Pioneer Cemetery lies in the country north of Alliance. It is listed under Hemingford, the nearest village, about twelve miles to the west.

It should not be confused with Bohemian Pioneer Cemetery, a separate burial ground some twenty-five miles to the west, which the county index carries under the name Potmesil.

Around 24 memorials have been recorded, which is a record of what has been photographed and indexed rather than a count of everyone buried there.

For burial records or plot inquiries, contact the Box Butte County Clerk in Alliance. Ownership can also be confirmed through the Nebraska Statewide Cemetery Registry at the State Historical Society.
