Pawnee State Recreation Area is near Emerald, in Lancaster County, Nebraska, about 4 miles from Lincoln. It surrounds the 740-acre Pawnee Lake, one of the Salt Valley Lakes built for flood control, and offers boating, camping, and fishing.
