Mount Hope Cemetery — Wood Lake

Mount Hope Cemetery serves Wood Lake, in the east of Cherry County on Highway 20.

There is a second and much larger Mount Hope Cemetery in this county, at Valentine, about seventeen miles to the north-west. The two are unconnected and are easily confused in record searches — check which is meant before traveling.

Around 779 memorials have been recorded, which is a record of what has been photographed and indexed rather than a count of everyone buried there.

For burial records or plot inquiries, contact the Village of Wood Lake, or the Cherry County Clerk in Valentine. Ownership can also be confirmed through the Nebraska Statewide Cemetery Registry at the State Historical Society.
