Lake Wanahoo NRD Recreation Area

Lake Wanahoo NRD Recreation Area is on the north side of Wahoo. 1,777-acre Lower Platte North NRD recreation area with a 662-acre no-wake lake (5 mph), boat ramp, seven fishing jetties, trails around the lake and an archery range. Campground on the west side: 95 electric gravel pads ($25/night), 34 tent sites ($8), 6 primitive cabins ($50) and a shower house, plus island tent camping on Pork Chop Island. Vehicle park permit required: $5 day pass, $15 annual (LPNNRD resident) or $25 annual (non-resident), sold at park kiosks, the NRD office, online and at Super C in Wahoo. Call 402-443-4675.
