Hyannis Cemetery serves Hyannis, the Grant County seat, on Highway 2 in the heart of the Sandhills cattle country.
It is by a wide margin the largest burial ground in the county — Grant is one of the least populated counties in Nebraska, with under a thousand people across some seventeen hundred square miles.
Around 1,114 memorials have been recorded, which is a record of what has been photographed and indexed rather than a count of everyone buried there.
For burial records or plot enquiries, contact the Village of Hyannis, or the Grant County Clerk in Hyannis. Ownership can also be confirmed through the Nebraska Statewide Cemetery Registry at the State Historical Society.
