High Plains Community Schools

High Plains Community Schools is the public school district for Polk, Clarks and Hordville, in Polk and Merrick counties. The elementary school is at Clarks and the middle and high school at Polk; the Hordville school closed in 2004. Nebraska school districts are run by an elected board and funded by local property tax and state aid. The district is the place to ask about enrollment, school calendars, activities and board meetings.
