Greenwood Cemetery — Chadron

Greenwood Cemetery is the main burial ground at Chadron, the Dawes County seat and home of Chadron State College.

Two other cemeteries stand within about a mile and a quarter — Calvary, the Catholic cemetery, and Grace Episcopal. All three are separate grounds with separate records, and a search should cover each.

Around 6,152 memorials have been recorded, which is a record of what has been photographed and indexed rather than a count of everyone buried there.

For burial records or plot enquiries, contact the City of Chadron, or the Dawes County Clerk in Chadron. Ownership can also be confirmed through the Nebraska Statewide Cemetery Registry at the State Historical Society.
