Description

Golden Hill Cemetery was founded in 1888 by the Chevra B'nai Israel Adas Russia congregation, on farmland at North 42nd Street. A chapel stands on the west side of the grounds.

The driveway gates are kept locked, but the walk-in gate by the chapel is open.

Around 2,470 memorials have been recorded, which is a record of what has been photographed and indexed rather than a count of everyone buried there.

For burial records or plot enquiries, contact Beth Israel Synagogue, which keeps the ground, or the Douglas County Clerk in Omaha. Ownership can also be confirmed through the Nebraska Statewide Cemetery Registry at the State Historical Society.
