Fremont City Hall is the municipal office for Fremont, Nebraska, at 400 East Military Avenue. Fremont is the county seat of Dodge County, population 27,141, about 20 minutes west of Omaha. Laid out 1856. The city owns its Department of Utilities, which provides municipal electric power; other departments include City Administration, City Clerk, Public Works, Police, the public library and Parks and Recreation. The historic downtown is on the National Register. Major employers include the Hormel Foods hog processing plant, Fremont Health Medical Center, Fremont Public Schools, Nye Health Services and Lincoln Premium Poultry, which runs the poultry plant, hatchery and feed mill supplying Costco. The city operates Splash Station, a municipal water park completed in 2007. Landmarks include the 1888 Love-Larson Opera House, the Louis E. May Historical Museum in an 1874 Victorian house, and the adjacent Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
