Fontanelle Orchard

Fontanelle Orchard is a fruit farm and roadside market at 26982 Highway 91, run by owner-operator Sara Welchert. Its stand sells what the orchard and the surrounding growers have in at the time: apples, peaches, melons, apricots, plums, tomatoes and sweet corn, along with cider, homemade pies, jellies and jams, and local honey. There is pick-your-own at the Apple Barn, which makes it an afternoon out rather than just a shop. The business gives its own address as Fontanelle, though it is generally listed under Nickerson; the two villages sit either side of the county line on Highway 91, roughly halfway between Fremont and Blair.
