Region 23 Emergency Management (Dawes County)

Dawes County is served by the emergency management office at 250 Main St Ste 9 in Chadron (Region 23), which also covers Box Butte, Sheridan and Sioux counties. County emergency management plans for and coordinates the response to floods, tornadoes, blizzards, wildfires, hazardous material spills and other emergencies. The office runs the local emergency operations center, issues public warnings, works with fire departments, law enforcement and rescue squads, keeps the county emergency operations plan current, and handles damage assessment and disaster assistance after an event.
