Blaine County is served by the emergency management office at 402 4th St in Taylor (Region 26), which also covers Garfield, Greeley, Loup, Sherman, Thomas, Valley and Wheeler counties. County emergency management plans for and coordinates the response to floods, tornadoes, blizzards, wildfires, hazardous material spills and other emergencies. The office runs the local emergency operations center, issues public warnings, works with fire departments, law enforcement and rescue squads, keeps the county emergency operations plan current, and handles damage assessment and disaster assistance after an event.
