Big Springs Saloon

A saloon on East 3rd Street in Big Springs, the Deuel County village at Interstate 80 exit 107 where Interstates 80 and 76 divide and where the old California Hill climb took wagons up out of the South Platte valley. Big Springs is also where Sam Bass and his gang took sixty thousand dollars in gold off a Union Pacific train in September 1877, the largest robbery in the railroad’s history to that date. The saloon trades on a genuinely historic corner and is a short run from Lake McConaughy.
