Bassett Rodeo

Rodeo in Bassett happens inside Rock County Fair week at the Rock County Fairgrounds, 507 South Park Street, from late July into the first days of August. Two evenings are given over to youth roughstock, which is the heart of a Sandhills ranch-country fair: mutton busting and pony broncs on the first night, then calf riding, steer riding and mini bull riding on the second, with a calf scramble alongside. A ranch rodeo produced by Mayfield Horse Co. also runs during the fair. Entry fees are small, ten to forty dollars by event. Youth roughstock entries go through Sharina Ammon on 402-822-0090. There is no separately branded Bassett rodeo outside fair week.
