Beyond Lincoln, Lancaster County's smaller towns hold their own well-established annual celebrations, alongside Nebraska's largest county fair.
Waverlyfest
Waverly — July 4. An Independence Day celebration with a parade, a kids' parade, a vendor market, a home run derby, the "Money Dive," and fireworks at Lawson Park.
Hickman Hay Days
Hickman — Late July. A community festival featuring a parade, a kickball tournament, a home run derby, fishing and downhill derbies, and church luncheons.
Roca Berry Farm Fall Festival
Roca — Mid-September through October. A harvest event at this long-running family farm (operating since 1980), with a pumpkin patch, hayrides, a corn maze, and haunted attractions.
Lancaster County Super Fair
Lincoln — Late July into early August. Held at the Sandhills Global Event Center, this is Nebraska's largest county fair, running about ten days with exhibits, 4-H, grandstand shows, and a midway.
