Joe’s Cafe Benson

Joe's Cafe at 6564 Maple St. in Benson was opened in 1958 by Joe Seidenspinner, a former Martin Bomber Plant worker, in a building that had been a grocery and, from 1942, the Maple Inn. The Omaha World-Herald called Seidenspinner the "dean of Omaha cafe owners" in 1994. Jose Palomares took over the cafe in 2010, and it still serves traditional breakfasts at an old-school lunch counter.
