Bronco’s Hamburgers is a western-themed, self-service burger drive-in at 4540 Leavenworth St. in Omaha. William T. Barnes opened the first Bronco’s at 30th and Fort Streets in north Omaha in 1959, and the Leavenworth location followed about three years later. Its neon sign is an icon of Omaha fast-food history.

The Barnes family still runs Bronco’s, which has never used frozen ingredients and is known for generous fries. Visit for current hours.
