About Hull
Hull was a rural post office and store in northwestern Banner County, about 13 miles northwest of Harrisburg, in what is still called Hull precinct.
History
A. B. Hull kept the general store and post office (Fitzpatrick gives J. T. Hull), which opened in 1887 and was served by the stage between Banner and Gering; in 1890 Hull also had a blacksmith and a justice of the peace. The post office lasted until 1930, longer than most in the county. Pleasant Hill (Hull) Cemetery, laid out in 1888 and still in use, holds several Union veterans of the Civil War. A few miles east, the 1890 C. C. Hampton Homestead, a stone-and-frame ranch whose owner promoted windmills and water conservation, is on the National Register; it is private.
