This marker, on Adams Street east of 5th Street in Cowles, was placed by Cowles alumni and the Nebraska State Historical Society. It recalls the three-story brick consolidated school built with a 1913 bond, opened in 1915, which graduated its first senior class in 1920 and closed in 1959, and notes that Cowles incorporated in 1912.
