Oregon Trail Park, at Maple and Clay Streets in Oak, has state historical marker No. 282, "Indian Captives," which tells of Laura Roper and the Eubank family, taken in the raids of August 7, 1864, and a Pony Express monument for Little Blue Station, which stood a few miles upriver on what is now private land. Oak's main street follows the Oregon Trail.
