The Hotel Wilber, 203 S. Wilson St. in Wilber, opened in 1895 on the site of an earlier wooden hotel that burned. The two-story brick building with its columned portico was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. The Barta family gave it to the Nebraska Czechs of Wilber in 1978, and the group still owns it. It has about a dozen guest rooms upstairs, a main-floor suite, a dining room and the Czech Cellar, and a garden that can be rented. Phone 402-821-2020.
