The Steamboat Trace follows the old railroad along the Missouri River bluffs for about 21 miles, from the Arbor Station trailhead south of Nebraska City through Peru to 648A Avenue south of Brownville. The Nemaha NRD manages it. Peru's trailhead, with restrooms and water, is at the north end of 5th Street. The trail closes from mid-November to early January for deer season.
