The Highway 137 Landing, north of Newport at the Rock and Keya Paha county line, is the last landing on the 76-mile Niobrara National Scenic River. It is on river left (the north bank), upstream side of the bridge, with a small gravel lot and a boat slide.
Check before you go: the Park Service reported the landing damaged in the March 2019 flood and awaiting repair by the Nebraska Department of Transportation, whose 2023 bridge plans include a new canoe launch here. Call the Park Service at 402-376-1901 for its current condition.
