Smokin Barrel BBQ (Smokin Barrel Craft Barbecue) serves Texas-style barbecue at 2457 S. 132nd St. in Omaha. It is owned by Air Force veteran Wayne Dinges and his wife, Karla, who started with a food truck, opened a storefront in late 2018 and moved to the 132nd Street location in August 2025.
Burnt ends are the best-known dish, sold by the half pound, as a sandwich or loose, sometimes with rotating glazes such as bourbon or caramel apple. The regular menu also has brisket, sausage links, pork spare ribs and pulled pork, with homemade potato salad and coleslaw. Specials have included smoked brisket meatloaf, smoked pastrami, a pastrami Reuben and tri-tip tacos. Military members and first responders get a discount when they bring in a patch.
Hours: lunch Tuesday through Saturday, sometimes Friday evenings. Food often sells out by early afternoon, so come early. Call 402-598-4855.
