Greek Islands at 3821 Center St. opened in 1983 at 35th and Center, started by brothers Bill and George Sgourakis and their wives, with George's wife Koula as the main cook. It moved a few blocks west to its current home in 1994. Known for gyros and traditional Greek dishes served in a large dining room with Greek murals, it is often called Omaha's best Greek restaurant.
