Trini's Mexican Restaurant at 1020 Howard St. opened in 1977 as one of the first tenants of the Old Market Passageway. It was founded by three former teachers, Bob Sitzman, Gerald Soukup and Steve Beliveau, and is now run by Rich Anderson, who started there as a waiter in the 1980s. Trini's is known for Tex-Mex puffy-shell tacos, especially the blackened fish taco, chile rellenos and its patio.
