Nebraska State Historical Society (NSHS)

History Nebraska, the Nebraska State Historical Society, is the state agency that collects and preserves Nebraska’s history and makes it available to everyone. Founded in 1878, it is headquartered at 1500 R Street in Lincoln.

History Nebraska runs the Nebraska History Museum at 131 Centennial Mall N. in Lincoln, keeps the state archives, and oversees the Nebraska historical marker program, whose roadside markers appear across the state.
