Potter Field is Omaha's public burial ground. Barely any headstones are visible on it.
Instead, six stones carry all of the names, set out alphabetically.
Around 3,472 memorials have been recorded, which is a record of what has been photographed and indexed rather than a count of everyone buried there.
For burial records or plot enquiries, contact Forest Lawn Memorial Park, which answers enquiries for this ground, or the Douglas County Clerk in Omaha. Ownership can also be confirmed through the Nebraska Statewide Cemetery Registry at the State Historical Society.
