Heller Cemetery — Wisner

Heller Cemetery is a family burial ground south of Wisner, in Cuming County. Half an acre was given for it in 1882 by a member of the Heller family, though one burial on the ground is older, dating from 1868. That grave was covered with soil brought from Wisconsin and then capped with concrete to stop the Nebraska wind carrying it off. The ground was meant to serve a Lutheran congregation, but the church was eventually built about two and a half miles away.
