Novotny Cemetery lies north-east of Hay Springs, in Section 3 of Township 32, Range 45. The county's records name it plainly as the Bohemian Cemetery — the burial ground of the Czech families who settled this part of the county, among them Pisacka and Pruhost.
Around 17 memorials have been recorded, which is a record of what has been photographed and indexed rather than a count of everyone buried there.
For burial records or plot enquiries, contact the Village of Hay Springs, or the Sheridan County Clerk in Rushville. Ownership can also be confirmed through the Nebraska Statewide Cemetery Registry at the State Historical Society.
