St. Mary’s Cemetery — Hay Springs

St. Mary's Cemetery is the Catholic burial ground at Hay Springs, about two hundred yards from Hay Springs Cemetery. They are two cemeteries, not two parts of one, and their records are kept separately.

There is a second Saint Marys in the county, at Rushville. The two are unconnected and are easily confused in indexes.

Around 283 memorials have been recorded, which is a record of what has been photographed and indexed rather than a count of everyone buried there.

For burial records or plot enquiries, contact the Village of Hay Springs, or the Sheridan County Clerk in Rushville. Ownership can also be confirmed through the Nebraska Statewide Cemetery Registry at the State Historical Society.
