Harvey Cemetery lies south-east of Crawford, on the line between Ranges 51 and 52, Township 31, Section 19. From Crawford, go south on Highway 20 about three miles to Squaw Creek Road, then east about two and a half miles.
It is also known as Crow Butte Cemetery, and the gate sign put up by its caretakers reads "Harvey Cemetery AKA Crow Butte Cemetery" — one burial ground, two names. Some indexes carry it under one name and some under the other.
J. J. Harvey homesteaded the land and gave it for use as a cemetery, which is where the name comes from. A Presbyterian church once stood nearby, served by a travelling minister. The ground is laid out in ninety-five lots of fifteen feet square, though many lot owners were never buried in them, and a number of graves have no marker. In 1987 the local 4-H Club cleaned the grounds, researched the burials, and replaced the old wooden markers with wooden crosses; those have since weathered in their turn.
Around 25 memorials have been recorded, which is a record of what has been photographed and indexed rather than a count of everyone buried there.
