Alliance Cemetery is the main burial ground at Alliance, the largest town in this part of the panhandle. The county's own cemetery index carries it under the name Greenwood, and older records may use that.
Calvary, the Catholic cemetery, stands about a mile and a quarter to the north-west and is a separate ground with separate records.
Around 8,817 memorials have been recorded, which is a record of what has been photographed and indexed rather than a count of everyone buried there.
For burial records or plot enquiries, contact the City of Alliance, or the Box Butte County Clerk in Alliance. Ownership can also be confirmed through the Nebraska Statewide Cemetery Registry at the State Historical Society.
