Omaha Valley Cemetery — the county's older records call it the Omaha Creek Valley cemetery, and before that the Potter cemetery — stands about two miles south of Homer, near the northwest corner of Section 25, Township 27, Range 8.
The Omaha Reservation begins just south of here, over the Thurston County line.
Around 1,773 memorials have been recorded, which is a record of what has been photographed and indexed rather than a count of everyone buried there.
For burial records or plot enquiries, contact the Dakota County Clerk in Dakota City. Ownership can also be confirmed through the Nebraska Statewide Cemetery Registry at the State Historical Society.
