Almeria Cemetery serves the small community of Almeria in the west of Loup County. It is also recorded as the Strohl Cemetery, and directions given locally run west of Taylor on Highway 91 for eight miles, then a mile and a quarter west on Strohl Road, turning north at the sign.
The cemetery is said to have been established in 1886 after the death of an infant daughter of George Wesley Strohl, who was buried on the Strohl homestead; Mr. Strohl then gave part of that land for a cemetery. A headstone for Mrs. John Worth gives 1884, which the county's own compiler could not account for. George W. Strohl himself was buried here in December 1886. Many graves are unmarked, and a large monument in the south portion is dedicated to the unmarked graves of the early Loup County pioneers and their families from 1875 to 1910.
Around 114 memorials have been recorded, which is a record of what has been photographed and indexed rather than a count of everyone buried there.
