The Loeffel Meat Shoppe is the University of Nebraska's meat laboratory and retail counter, in the Animal Science Complex at 38th and Fair Street in Lincoln. It is a USDA inspected plant and it is open to the public: Tuesdays from 1pm to 5.30pm and Fridays from 11am to 5.30pm. It sells fresh and frozen beef, pork, lamb and goat, smoked and slicing sausages, brats, naturally cased wieners, snack sticks and fresh eggs, along with gift cards. Animal Science students do the processing, packaging and selling, and develop the products themselves. It takes cards, cash and checks.
