Panhandle Public Health District

Panhandle Public Health District is the public health department covering Banner, Box Butte, Cheyenne, Dawes, Deuel, Garden, Grant, Kimball, Morrill, Scotts Bluff, Sheridan and Sioux counties, from 808 Box Butte Ave in Hemingford. Nebraska local health departments handle the public health work no single town could staff: immunization clinics, WIC, communicable disease investigation, restaurant and pool inspection, emergency preparedness, tobacco and substance prevention, and health education. There are twenty of them covering the whole state, and each is governed by a board drawn from the counties it serves.
