The Brownville Flea Market has run since 1957, which makes it about seventy years old, and is held twice a year through the village: the spring market always falls over Memorial Day weekend, and the autumn market over a late-September weekend. Vendors sell antiques, plants, food, home-spun items, tools, art and furniture, and admission is free. It is organized by the Brownville Historical Society, whose heritage angle is the preservation of Brownville itself, a former Missouri River port town. The same society runs a February potato bake, Freedom Day on July 4 with parade and fireworks, Old Time Autumn in October and Christmas in Brownville.

2026 Spring Flea Market: Saturday, May 23 (8:00 AM) through Monday, May 25 (3:30 PM), Memorial Day weekend. 2026 Fall Flea Market: Saturday-Sunday, September 26-27, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM both days. The market spreads across Main Street, the side streets, and the Depot and old gas station areas of the historic village. Vendor registration and space assignment is required in advance; contact the Brownville Historical Society for vendor applications and details.
