Description

The Brownville Flea Market has run since 1957, which makes it about seventy years old, and is held twice a year through the village: the spring market always falls over Memorial Day weekend, and the autumn market over a late-September weekend. Vendors sell antiques, plants, food, home-spun items, tools, art and furniture, and admission is free. It is organised by the Brownville Historical Society, whose heritage angle is the preservation of Brownville itself, a former Missouri River port town. The same society runs a February potato bake, Freedom Day on July 4 with parade and fireworks, Old Time Autumn in October and Christmas in Brownville.
