Homestead Days is held at Beatrice in late June in two parts: the programme at Homestead National Historical Park, which marks one of the first claims filed under the Homestead Act, and a wider community celebration across the town. It began at the park in the early 1980s under the Park Service’s Year of the Visitor programme, and the Beatrice Area Chamber partnered in 1984 to expand it into the city, drawing over 17,000 visitors that first year. The park days run traditional craft and antique farming demonstrations with free admission and a Junior Ranger programme, and the 2026 lineup put a Czech band and a Wichita War Dancer on the same stage, which is a fair picture of who homesteaded here and who was displaced by it. Park phone 402-223-3514, chamber 402-223-2338.
