Nebraska City City Hall

Nebraska City City Hall is the municipal office for Nebraska City, Nebraska, at 1409 Central Avenue. Nebraska City is the county seat of Otoe County, population 7,222. Incorporated in 1855 by the Nebraska Territorial Legislature, making it the oldest incorporated city in the state. Birthplace of Arbor Day, founded by J. Sterling Morton in 1872. City services include police, fire and EMS, the library, a municipal airport, utilities, a transfer station, streets and the cemetery, plus parks, an aquatic center, a golf course and a historic center. Landmarks include Arbor Lodge State Historical Park, Mayhew Cabin, the only Nebraska site recognized by the National Park Service as an Underground Railroad station, the Kregel Windmill Factory Museum and the Missouri River Basin Lewis and Clark Center.
